Go beyond a simple tasting and step into the heart of a cherished Lebanese tradition. Join a local, family-run distiller in a beautiful mountain village and become an arak distiller for a day. This is a rare, hands-on opportunity to immerse yourself in the craft of Lebanon's national spirit. Your journey begins in the vineyards, where you'll learn about the native Obeidi and Merwah grapes that form the soul of the arak. Then, you'll get up close with the magnificent copper alembic still—the iconic karkeh—and see it in action. Your host will guide you through the patient art of triple distillation and the crucial moment of adding the fresh aniseed. The day culminates in a traditional mezze feast, where you'll raise a glass and taste the smooth, authentic arak that you helped create, sharing stories and laughter with your hosts.
